Welcome to The Bunker
By nick hoffer
Hey guys, Nick Hoffer here.
I’ve wanted to start something like this for a long time.
Golf has slowly become a bigger part of my life over the last few years, and somewhere along the way I realized there wasn’t really a place that captured what golf culture actually feels like here in Idaho.
Most golf media today feels polished, corporate, or completely disconnected from the average golfer. It’s all private clubs, luxury trips, and perfect swings.
That’s not what this is.
The Bunker is meant to feel more like the conversations that happen after a round, inside the simulator room, or sitting around with your buddies talking golf way longer than you probably should.
This is for the people squeezing in nine holes after work.
The guys grinding through winter simulator leagues.
The golfers trying to break 90.
The gear junkies.
The local course loyalists.
The people who love golf even when they’re playing terrible.
Honestly, Idaho has an underrated golf scene, and I think it deserves more attention than it gets.
We’ve got incredible public courses, hidden gems, passionate local businesses, and a growing community of golfers who genuinely love the game. I wanted to build a place that highlights that culture while also documenting my own journey deeper into golf.
So what is The Bunker?
It’ll probably evolve over time, but the vision is pretty simple:
- Local course reviews
- Simulator builds and golf tech
- Gear and apparel
- Podcast conversations
- Tournament coverage
- Golf trips around Idaho
- Stories from local golfers
- Business spotlights
- The occasional hot take
You’ll also see 208.golf grow alongside all of this.
The goal isn’t to become some giant polished media company. I want this to feel real, local, and community-driven from day one.
If you’re reading this early, thanks for being here.
Seriously.
I’m excited to see where this goes.
Welcome to The Bunker.
