The Future of Idaho Golf Might Be Inside Tee Box Meridian

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to get a private tour of the new Tee Box Meridian before they officially open their doors next Wednesday.

I've been to plenty of indoor golf facilities over the years, but this one felt different.

Yes, the technology is incredible. The TrackMan iO bays, the PuttView putting system, the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) assessment, and the golf-specific fitness center are all first class. But after spending a few hours at the facility, I realized the technology isn't what makes Tee Box different.

It's the people.

Built to Help You Get Better

Tee Box isn't trying to be another place where you rent a simulator for an hour and hit balls with your buddies.

Everything about the facility is built around helping golfers improve.

The TrackMan iO bays are what you'd expect from a premium training facility, but it was the PuttView system that really caught my attention. Instead of simply rolling putts on an indoor green, PuttView projects the break, slope, and ideal starting line directly onto the surface while tracking every putt you hit. It's one of those technologies you have to see in person to really appreciate.

They're also adding FORJ AI club fitting technology, and Tee Box corporate is developing an app that will eventually connect your simulator data to your real rounds, helping golfers take what they learn indoors and actually use it on the course.

It's a pretty cool vision.

The Best Part of My Visit

The highlight of my visit wasn't any of the technology.

It was spending about an hour talking golf with Jesse Nessen.

Jessie is a former Boise State athlete, Marine Corps veteran, former Assistant Golf Professional at Crane Creek Country Club, and now Tee Box Meridian's Director of Instruction.

We started talking about my swing, and before long he was pointing out a few flaws that nobody had ever explained to me before. More importantly, he explained why they were happening and what I should actually be working on.

It didn't feel like a lesson.

It felt like two golfers sitting around talking about the game.

Those conversations are getting harder to find.

Then I Sat Down With Logan

After talking with Jesse, I spent some time with Logan, and that's when I started to understand what Tee Box is really trying to build.

This isn't just another simulator business.

According to Logan, Tee Box has grown to 17 locations throughout the Northwest and has already sold 107 franchise locations as the company continues expanding across the country. Golf legend Sir Nick Faldo is also involved, which says a lot about where they believe the brand is headed.

But what impressed me most wasn't the expansion.

It was the mission.

Logan talked about helping junior golfers earn college scholarships, supporting local high school golf programs, and creating opportunities for schools throughout the Treasure Valley to use Tee Box as a year-round practice facility.

As someone who's passionate about growing the game here in Idaho, that really resonated with me.

They're also planning corporate memberships, sponsorship opportunities, simulator league including the TrackMan Next Golf Tour—and will cap memberships at around 200 members to keep the experience focused on coaching and player development instead of simply renting simulator time.

One More Thing...

Everything was going great...

Right up until I packed up to leave.

I managed to knock my tripod over and completely destroy my camera before I could back up any of the footage I shot.

So unfortunately, the video tour I had planned isn't happening.

Looks like I'll just have to go back.

Honestly, I was already planning on it.

Grand Opening

Tee Box Meridian officially opens next Wednesday, and they're doing it right.

There will be local vendors, food trucks, giveaways, 18 rounds of golf at local courses, a new Ping driver, and even a custom Scotty Cameron putter up for grabs.

Final Thoughts

I walked into Tee Box thinking I'd be writing about technology.

I left thinking about the future of golf in Idaho.

The TrackMan bays are impressive.

The PuttView system is something every golfer should experience.

The TPI assessment and gym show they're serious about helping golfers improve.

But what stuck with me were the conversations.

Jessie reminded me why good coaching matters.

Logan reminded me why investing in junior golfers, high school programs, and growing the game matters even more.

That's what I'll remember about my first visit to Tee Box Meridian.
